Left Side Weakening and High-Field MRI Brain Scanning of Angiocentric Glioma: A Case Report

ثبت نشده
چکیده

This case report details the history, diagnosis, and follow-up of a 16-year-old male of South Asian descent who presented to the emergency room with left side weakening and numbness, decreased vision, and headaches. Radiologic evaluation with computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) results and findings are discussed. In addition, a comparison between low-field and high-field MRI is given with some benefits of intraoperative MRI. Possible advantages of using high-field MRI are given. The patient’s treatment regimen and follow-up care are presented to better educate the radiologic technology community.

Intractable epilepsy due to angiocentric glioma: A case report and minireview

The aim of this case report and minireview was to investigate the diagnosis of and therapeutic approaches for angiocentric glioma (AG) and to summarize the clinical manifestations and the pathological and imaging characteristics of the disease. Intraoperative cortical electroencephalogram (ECoG) monitoring was performed to locate the epileptic foci in a child with AG who presented with intracta...

Angiocentric glioma, a recently added WHO grade-I tumor

Angiocentric glioma (AG) is a distinct group of tumors, grade I according to the 2007 WHO classification of tumors of the central nervous system. It is a rare group predominantly seen in children and young adults, with good prognosis following gross total resection. A young child presented with progressively worsening seizure activity; MRI revealed a lesion involving the left posterior frontal ...

Magnetic Graphene Oxide Nanocarrier as a drug delivery vehicle for MRI monitored magnetic targeting of rat brain tumors

Introduction: Glioblastoma multiform is the most common malignant brain tumor, with an invasive nature. Despite the development of conventional therapies such as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, because of high recurrence rates, the prognosis remains very poor. Over the last decade, nanotechnology has represented an innovative method as nanoparticle-based drug delivery ...

Imaging characteristics of an unusual, high-grade angiocentric glioma: a case report and review of the literature.

Angiocentric gliomas have recently been reclassified as a separate central nervous system tumor. Few cases have been reported, and most of those correspond to slow-growing, low-grade neoplasms in very young pediatric patients. Here we describe magnetic resonance imaging findings (including diffusion imaging, spectroscopy and tractography) in an unusual higher-grade neoplasm with pathologic feat...
